The SMART PDS 2.0 (part of the larger SMART-PDS scheme) is a unified, technology-driven platform launched by the Indian Government to modernize the Public Distribution System (PDS). It digitizes the entire ration ecosystem—from the procurement of food grains to doorstep delivery—making services paperless, transparent, and accessible to citizens.
The SMART PDS 2.0 officially launched on August 5, 2025 . The modernized, citizen-centric Public Distribution System (PDS) platform serves as a technological upgrade from the earlier ePDS platform and allows users to access ration card services and track complaints online.
